Prophete looks back on over 100 years of company history, characterized by inventiveness, know-how and a clear sense of tomorrow's mobility needs. With the guiding principle ”Keep moving” Prophete not only promotes innovative products, but also consistent digitization in-house.
VeloPIM provides the new central database for Prophete's extensive range of products — from bicycles to e-bikes to accessories — and thus creates the basis for centralized, efficient and future-proof management of product data.

Prophete manages its product range in two central areas: bicycles and accessories. These are each managed by independent teams with different requirements for data structures, maintenance processes and workflows. Accordingly heterogeneous was the starting point of the product data. While one part was maintained in Excel spreadsheets, another was available in an outdated PIM system.
The new solution should therefore not only reflect team-specific requirements, but also create a central, consistent data logic. The initial import required more than just a simple migration, namely consolidation and restructuring from existing data into a sustainable model.
There were also legal requirements such as Digital Battery Pass (from 2027) and the extended CLP Regulation (from 2026), which should be implemented directly in the new system. For this, technical and chemical information had to be collected completely and in accordance with standards.
Parallel to this was the launch of the new B2C online shop, which should be automatically supplied with current product data from the PIM in the future. Even the connection to the existing Navision ERP system was part of the project in order to be able to provide item master data such as prices and availability in synchronized form.
“With VeloPIM, we have found a system that is just right for us: It meets the specific requirements of our range of e-bikes, bicycles and accessories, can be flexibly adapted and is a decisive step for us to meet the requirements of modern mobility and the technology-based economy. Together with our new online shop, it forms the basis for our digital growth. ”

Project Lead @Prophete
In order to meet the different requirements of the Bikes and Parts product areas, two independent VeloPIM instances were implemented. In close cooperation with the two teams, we tailored these individually to the respective processes and structures. Bicycles and accessories can thus be managed separately without sacrificing central data logic.
For seamless data exchange, VeloPIM was connected directly to the existing Navision ERP system via its API gateway. New articles and relevant information such as MSRPs can thus be automatically synchronized. Prophete's new online shop is also fully linked to VeloPIM. All product information, from technical details to marketing texts, comes directly from the PIM system and is updated automatically.
Digital battery pass:
From February 2027, the digital battery pass for e-bikes will be mandatory. A regulatory innovation that poses major challenges for many manufacturers. This is because it requires not only the complete, standard-compliant recording of numerous technical and chemical information, but also its structured maintenance and provision in a standardized format.
Together with Prophete, we have extended the bicycle-specific data scheme in VeloPIM so that all relevant information such as weight, producer and chemical composition is maintained centrally. The battery pass can be generated automatically from this at any time — always based on the latest product data.
Expanded CLP Regulation:
In addition, the reform of the CLP Regulation, which expands the labeling requirement for hazardous chemicals in online trade from 01.07.2026, was implemented directly in VeloPIM. All mandatory information, including hazard statements and pictograms, is maintained centrally and displayed in the right place in Prophete's online shop.
Prophete thus already meets all legal requirements for online trade in products containing batteries and hazardous substances.
With the introduction of VeloPIM, Prophete has taken its product data management to a new level. The central administration and automated distribution of data enable significantly more efficient maintenance and ensure consistency across all sales channels. Through flexible adjustment to individual team processes and integration into existing systems, Prophete is optimally prepared for future challenges. Together with the new online shop, a basis for sustainable, digital growth was created.
VeloPIM combines all product data from Prophete's range of bicycles and accessories in a central platform. All teams have access to complete and up-to-date data at any time.
The schema structure and workflows in VeloPIM were developed in close coordination with the product teams. The result was clear processes that facilitate cross-team work and ensure greater transparency and consistency in data management.
