The use of a PIM system is particularly useful for companies that offer a variety of products and product variants in their product range and sell them on various (international) channels, such as online marketplaces, web shops, social media, print, etc. The size of a company is not decisive.
With the help of a PIM system, all product data is managed at a central location and can be made available directly from there to various output channels. Any changes to the data are synchronized in real time. This seamless integration ensures that all information is always up to date and offers customers a consistent buying experience across all channels.
A PIM system manages all data and information needed to successfully market your products on various channels.
In the case of Bikes this data includes, for example:
Some PIM systems, such as VeloPIM, have integrated DAM (Digital Asset Management) functions to manage media assets, such as photos, graphics, videos, and PDF files.
VeloPIM is a software-as-a-service solution based on the latest and proven web technologies. The security of your data is paramount, which is why VeloPIM is hosted exclusively on German, GDPR-compliant cloud servers. Each of our customers receives a dedicated server instance that is provided exclusively for them and is not shared with other customers.
If required, we can of course also offer VeloPIM as an on-premise solution.
VeloPIM is completely designed for model-variant relationships. This means that only one main model of a product with the generally valid specifications must be created at a time. When variants are created, the core data of the main model, such as brand and description, are automatically passed on to the variants. In the variants, only the variant differences, such as color and frame size, are maintained and, if necessary, the attributes from the inherited values are overwritten.
German, English, French and Spanish are standard on board. Other languages can be added at any time.
The data in VeloPIM can be translated and maintained in any language. In addition, it is possible to completely localize data and restrict product ranges by country, region, currency, or other customer-specific requirements.
If required, we can integrate third-party translation management systems at any time. We have already developed an individual connection between VeloPIM and Trados for some of our customers. The connection is made via Excel exports of the required translations to Trados. After translation, the data is imported back into VeloPIM. A connection via the Trados REST API requires the use of Trados Enterprise or Trados Team.
VeloPIM has a simple DAM (Digital Asset Management) system that allows media assets to be uploaded and downloaded, organized in folder structures and linked to corresponding articles or data sets. Metadata such as titles, descriptions and link names, as well as translations, can be added to the assets. VeloPIM automatically ensures the correct resolution and format for optimal display in various media such as mobile, desktop, tablet, print, etc.
Using the DAM features in VeloPIM is optional. If required, third-party DAM systems can be integrated into VeloPIM at any time.
For importing data into VeloPIM, we develop an individual import tool for each customer, which imports the data either directly from an ERP system or from Excel/CSV tables and automatically transfers it into the VeloPIM data schema.
To import heterogeneous data from different manufacturers, we have the option of developing a pipeline tool that automates recurring data imports for specific brands. To do this, the importer must be configured once per supplier. If the data formats or exports remain the same with these suppliers, the pipeline tool can run automatically.
VeloPIM has a powerful ExportCenter and an API gateway (“middleware”). The former provides all possible data exports according to individual wishes and parameters. Exports can be created automatically, on a time-controlled basis, or manually. Created exports receive a permalink, which does not change during the lifetime of the respective export, but always keeps the data available in its latest version.
Using the second module, our API gateway, all channels (web shop, apps, print, etc.) and third-party providers (Veloconnect, BikeCenter, Bidex, ChannelPilot, etc.) can be connected to VeloPIM and provided with up-to-date data.
The license costs for VeloPIM are as follows:
The amount of the respective costs depends on the number of SKUs* managed in VeloPIM, booked additional modules and the interfaces to be connected.
We would be happy to discuss your requirements with you and make an individual offer.
We offer you the full service for a smooth setup, use and expansion of our bike PIM.
It is very important to us that VeloPIM can be used optimally by our customers. That is why we take a close look at which data structures and workflows are already in place in order to ensure the best possible use of VeloPIM and to exploit the full potential of product data management.
Thanks to the bike-specific data schema, VeloPIM is immediately ready for use and can be set up within a very short time. We work closely with you to understand your data structure and adapt the VeloPIM data schema to meet your requirements.
We then support you in transferring existing data to VeloPIM and provide the necessary import options and interfaces. We seamlessly integrate VeloPIM with various third-party systems and all desired output channels.
As developers of VeloPIM, we are able to adapt our system to your requirements and wishes at any time, thus ensuring long-term flexibility and scalability.
