Step 1
Requirements check
In a first kick-off meeting, we get everyone involved on board: product management, marketing, e-commerce and IT. The aim is to record the status quo and to derive requirements and wishes for the implementation of the PIM project:
  • Identification of existing data sources and interfaces (files, systems, etc.)
  • Evaluation of product data structure and relationships
  • Identification of data recipients (internal departments, partner companies, third-party providers, etc.)
Whether it's replacing an existing PIM system or setting up new product management processes, we consider your current workflows, challenges, and goals to ensure that the VeloPIM implementation is optimally tailored to you.

Step 2
Customer-specific data schema
Together with product management and marketing, we go through the VeloPIM data schema in fine detail and adapt it precisely to your individual requirements.

These include:
  • Your individual product logic
  • Handling of product variants
  • Multilingualism, localization, country-specific assortments and currencies
  • Mapping of cross-selling relationships
  • Asset management (images, videos, PDFs, awards, etc.)
We tailor our bike-specific data schema to your needs in order to precisely represent your product relationships and workflows, making it easier for you to work with product data on a daily basis. The adaptability of VeloPIM ensures a high level of flexibility and scalability of the data schema even during operation. In this way, VeloPIM is constantly growing and developing with your requirements.
Step 3
Workflows & permissions
Setting up a PIM system is relatively straightforward. However, the VeloPIM team takes it a step further with you. We analyze your product management processes in detail, understand your workflow in handling product data and tailor the VeloPIM platform and associated tools precisely to your needs.

In doing so, we clarify, for example:
  • How does the translation process work?
  • How is data checked and approved?
  • When is data considered “final” for publication?
  • How detailed should data be exported?
  • Which output should be generated from the data (print catalogs, data sheets, digital price tags, etc.)?
  • Who has the right to change data? Who is only allowed to read the data?
Based on the findings from this workshop, we are setting up powerful user and rights management. The imports and exports of the data have already been outlined and can be addressed in the next step.
Step 4
Exports & technical integration
Together with your IT department, we plan the seamless integration of VeloPIM into your existing system landscape and the required external interfaces. Thanks to our VeloPIM API gateway, we are extremely flexible and can easily connect various channels and third-party systems, including:
  • ERP system, web shop, website, apps
  • External marketplaces and platforms
  • Third-party tools such as channel management systems or print automation tools
With the integrated VeloPIM export center, we provide you with a powerful tool that enables fine-grained and target group-specific provision of product data in various export formats such as CSV, Excel, JSON or XML. This allows individual price lists, master data exports and special catalog exports to be created at the click of a mouse or automatically according to a schedule.
step 5
VeloPIM launch
After successfully implementing all requirements and customizing the entire VeloPIM system according to your wishes, we will work together to develop an efficient import strategy.
Based on this, your data is imported into VeloPIM from existing sources such as the ERP system or Excel spreadsheets. We provide you with both a test and a live system and guide you step-by-step through the use of VeloPIM in an onboarding workshop. After everything in the test system is running smoothly and you have already extensively tested your data, the live system is launched. In this way, we ensure a smooth transition and secure implementation of VeloPIM.
After go-live, we'll be there to help you get the most out of VeloPIM and your teams. Let's get off to a successful start together!
